Breaking Open the Word

During the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Masses throughout the school year, all 1st through 8th grade parish children are offered the opportunity to adjourn to a classroom at the beginning of the Liturgy of the Word where catechists help to bring the Word of God to them in a way they can understand.  After their session, the children return to the church to finish Mass with their families.

Spirit Youth Ministry (Click here to find our Facebook page.)

“Spirit” is our 9th – 12th grade youth ministry program that meets on select Sundays 6-8 p.m. in Ryan Hall from September through May. A team of adult youth ministry leaders integrate the Sunday Gospels into interactive dialogue and invites teens to grow, pray, think, and share their faith.  Sessions are interactive, and include fun, social activities, retreats, and teen leadership opportunities.  “Spirit” teen ministry builds strong faith, close friendships, and challenges teens to put the Gospel into action locally and globally, thus building a strong foundation for the next generation of Catholic adults.

Youth Ministry Mission Statement

Holy Ghost Parish youth ministry exists to sow the Word of God in the hearts of teens in grades 9-12, so that through their spiritual formation, Catholic identity development, involvement in parish ministries, service to others, & Christian leadership training; they might answer Jesus call to be practicing, lifelong and active disciples.

Spirit participants live out their mission through group retreats, prayer experiences, fun events, gospel centered formation, and Christian leadership training.  The ministry is very interactive, dynamic, fun, and faith building.
