Baptism Preparation for Infants

Call the parish office at 630-860-2975 to set up date. Parents are required to attend a pre-baptism meeting. Group baptisms (4 babies maximum) are held on Sundays at 12:30 p.m.

Parents or guardians of infants to 7 year olds are required to attend a Baptism prep meeting prior to a child's reception of the sacrament. In some cases, an appointment with the pastor may also be necessary. They will learn about the significance of the Sacrament and the responsibilities of Catholic parenthood.

The Baptism preparation meeting for parents seeking the sacrament for their children) takes place monthly, usually on Tuesday evenings at 7:15 p.m. in the Church. This meeting must be attended before setting the date for the Baptism.

Baptism Preparation for Older Children

Older children who are already school age who are in need of Baptism must go through the RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children) through the parish religious education program.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered on Saturdays from 3:00 - 3:45 PM by appointment durning the week.

Reconciliation and Eucharist

Instruction for children on these sacraments is currently being offered in the 2nd Grade. Instruction in these sacraments are part of the Family Faith Formation (RE) program.

Confirmation

Youth instruction for the sacrament of Confirmation through adult is currently being administered within the 8th Grade religion curriculum in the Family Faith Formation programs.

Initiation Sacraments for Adults:

Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation

Through the parish RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) process, adult candidates (individuals who were baptized and now wish to complete their initiation into the Catholic Church) may receive formation in the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. At the end of the instructional period, all candidates will complete their full initiation into the Church.

Adult Catechumen (individuals who seek to enter into the Catholic faith for the first time) will receive instruction in Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.  At the end of the process, all catechumen will be fully initiated into the Catholic Church.

Marriage Preparation

It is necessary that all couples desiring to be married at Holy Ghost Church call the parish office to schedule an appointment with a priest at least six months prior to the date of their wedding and BEFORE they set a date with a banquet facility. Our marriage preparation program is a process of time spent with the priest and a married couple.  Workshops are also provided to assist the engaged couple to be as prepared as possible for their future marriage and the many years thereafter.

Anointing of the Sick

One Fall and Spring Anointing of the Sick Mass is celebrated each year.  Check the bulletin or call the parish office, as the dates change yearly.  Individuals who wish to be anointed at other times of the year need to call the parish office to make arrangements for a parish priest or deacon visit.  Call the parish office at 630-860-2975.
