Church of the Holy Ghost

A Roman Catholic Community of Faith

Organizations

The organizations of the Parish help the Pastor with many important activities.  They need your help!

Council of Catholic Women

The CCW Mission is to unite all the women of Holy Ghost Parish in spiritual, educational and social activities. Holy Ghost CCW has been able to help the church, community and even the world through the work of the women who are active members. The Council promotes true community among the women in the parish with monthly events. It also plans and executes outreach efforts, serving those in need throughout the local community. The group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of most months with special events throughout the year. All women in the parish are automatically members of the Council of Catholic Women and are invited to become more involved in this important organization. You are welcome at any time to attend our meetings and functions. For information contact Mary Beth Kurpiel at  630-650-1932.

Respect Life

The Respect Life Ministry, sponsored by the Council of Catholic Women, works to transform our parish into a Culture of Life where every human being is valued and protected from the moment of conception until natural death. Prayer is encouraged with a November Holy Hour, distribution of prayer cards and pamphlets, and prayers on the first and third Fridays of every month at the Wood Dale abortion clinic, 203 E. Irving Park Road. Crisis Pregnancy Centers are assisted with a baby bottle coin collection sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Attendance is encouraged at pro-Life activities in the Diocese educating us on: Abortion, Post-abortion Healing, Euthanasia, Chastity Education, Embryonic Stem Cell Research, Human Cloning, Capital Punishments, Ethical Vaccines, Fertility Issues and Artificial Contraception.  For more information contact Peg Gisburne 630-595-4302.

Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is a worldwide fraternal organization for Catholic men who are building a bridge back to faith.  The 4 founding pillars of the organization are Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. These are the values the Knights of Columbus stand for, and by which they live their lives.

Knights stand for religious liberty. Knights give food to families. Knights supply aid to war-torn countries. Knights raise money for charitable causes in their own communities. Knights give voices to those who can’t speak.

The Knights of Columbus are a band of brothers ---- who all share in a call and

who all walk together on a journey towards something better. Any Catholic man, 18 years of age or older, who is a practicing Catholic, is eligible for membership.  If you would like to join us on our journey, contact Robbie Lasica at 630-422-5210, or Warren Wawczak at 630-487-7925, email kofc10325@gmail.com, or scan the QR Code to join online.

Holy Ghost Council 10325 meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month in the Koinonia Room in the school building at 7:00 PM. The Holy Ghost Knights of Columbus also lead the praying of the Rosary on the 2nd Sunday of every month after the 10:30 Mass. All are welcome to join.
