PEACE AND SOCIAL JUSTICE MINISTRY
“Whatever you do for one of these, the least of my
sisters and brothers, you did it for me.”(Matthew 25)
Purpose: To stimulate the parish’s awareness of
human social needs and to develop effective
responses to these needs.
Definition of Committee Task:
1 To educate ourselves and the parish
community through dialogue and critical Christian
reflection on the social mission of the church.

To promote the
church’s social mission by
a. working
for and calling the parish to work for structural
and systemic changes in the
economic, social and political
order that promote the values
of the reign of God;
b. calling
forth the resources of the parish community to meet
the needs of the world
community e.g., food collections,
Operation Rice Bowl, Campaign
for Human Development;
c.
empowering oppressed people by promoting self-help
projects.

To network with
other groups in the parish and community.
Membership is open to all interested in furthering the
purpose of this committee. The committee meets on
the 1st
Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
