FR. KEVIN’S SCRIPTURE STUDY
Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00p.m..in the
Church.
Jesus tells us in Luke's Gospel that he recognizes us as his brothers and sisters (and even Mother) only if we HEAR the Word of
God and KEEP it (Luke
8:21).  There is no way we will be able to KEEP the Word unless we not only HEAR it, but UNDERSTAND it as well. The few minutes of the Homily on Sunday are not enough to cover the meanings much less the applications of the Sunday
Reading.
Therefore ALL members of the Parish (High School age and older) are invited to join with Father Kevin in an ongoing (and usually weekly) study of the Readings for the following Sunday. He presents the background of the text, discusses the meanings of difficult words or phrases, and then presents some suggestions for application of the text to our lives. While all valid Christian sources are used, the Roman Catholic Tradition is our principal guide. No one from the group is expected to share, but
anyone's questions and/or input are always
welcomed. The group is open-ended; people may join and leave whenever they wish. The group gathers in the Church on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Bible text is provided, although anyone may also bring their own Bible if they wish.
Scripture Study session costs are covered through the Sunday offering of the parishioners.
