EDUCATION COMMISSION

The purpose of the Holy Ghost Education Commission is to help all know and understand that “Jesus is Lord,” and experience for themselves the saving power of God in their lives.  The Holy Ghost Education Commission ensures that appropriate religious-spiritual formation is available for all who approach Holy Ghost Parish seeking to know God.  The Commission provides a structure through which the voice of parishioners may be expressed to the Council on religious educational matters and makes recommendations for programs to the Parish Council based on an assessment of parishioners’ educational needs.

The Holy Ghost Education Commission Charter states its mission as follows:  “Called together in the name of Jesus and guided by the Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost Education Commission discerns the desires of God for the community of Holy Ghost Parish.

In the process of discernment, the Holy Ghost Education Commission humbly listens to the Word of God, actively reflects on the contemporary  life of the Church, and openly responds to  the educational and spiritual needs of the parish by teaching as Jesus taught.

Holy Ghost Education Commission provides appropriate religious-spiritual formation for all the people of the parish community by providing the means to meet their spiritual health and continued growth.

The Education Commission is made up of six members: one each from Holy Ghost School Board, Religious Education Board, Adult Formation and Youth Ministry.  Two members are chosen from the parish-at-large.  Members serve 2 year terms.

Meeting are held in the evenings, every other month, from September through June.
